A digital painting of Stryker from Mortal Kombat that I did for the Mortal Kombat Tribute being hosted by Game Art HQ.Com. I was going to go for a Battlefield 3 type thing, but I figured I already did something like that.
I've always had a thing for Stryker. He's the most ordinary of any of the Kombatants, yet he tries the hardest of any of them. He's not Spec Ops like Sonya. He isn't a martial artist like Sub-Zero or Scorpion. He's not a cyborb like Jax, Kano or Kabal. Magic? HA! He's a Police Man from the US. You know how we are about magic. Yet, he's inventive, the ultimate bad-cop, and one not to play by the rules, which gives him a unique advantage in any fight. He's the unanticipated factor, someone who you don't expect to face the likes of Kintaro, Mileena, and the Forces of Darkness, but he does anyway. Yet he doesn't see himself as a hero. He only sees it as his job. If the call of duty means facing Shao Kahn in a duel to the death to defend his world, he will answer it.
Let me point reinforce the point that he is literally the ONLY Kombatant who has no powers whatsoever. And this is a world where actors and MOTION-CAPTURE ARTISTS can at least shoot fireballs.
You, my friend, do him justice.
And that makes him really cool.
