No one is invincible.
The following is by Thus the thunder of war and chaos came to a stop,
yet many a life had perished under that desolate rock.
The once lush and thriving homes are now but ash and shadow,
supplying the bards of the future with tales of bravery and sorrow.
Though the casualties were staggering and many were lost,
one soul gave everything to save all and paid the ultimate cost.
The companions knew little of the warrior’s past life or even his name,
but due to his selfless deeds they still honored the soldier all the same.
They gathered the weapons of his fallen foes around his burial ground,
then struck his rifle’s barrel into the head of the snow covered mound.
The snow gently fell around them as if the skies themselves softly wept,
blanketing the site of their fallen comrade who now peacefully slept.
With a saddened but knowing purpose the heroes began to leave,
but not before they planted the warriors helm for all to see.
In time all are doomed to death’s eternal slumber,
but his deeds would be sung by uncounted numbers.
Was listening to music at work when the song "Sacrifice" from the Halo 4 soundtrack popped up and this came to mind. The idea here was that the snow hasn't been falling for long, hence why it hasn't begun to stick to the ground or anything. I don't even know where or how I got these brushes for snowflakes, but I guess thanks to whoever made them.
Same deal as always. Check out the song that inspired this, or fuck off:
